What is the safest way to get rid of ants and palmetto bugs in the room of my birds.?
We have an enclosed porch we keep our birds in the summer, we're in Georgia. They are in cages, but are free to fly in this room. The Ant and Palmetto bugs sometimes get ridiculed, I keep them out of cages by putting veg. oil around the legs. What else can I do to rid the room of these pests. It is a house of 100 years to close tightly, there is a possibility. Any idea.
The May issue of the magazine has an article in BirdTalk home pest-proof. Suggest use of diatomaceous earth as a barrier around the exterior of the house. A mark which refers to "the concern of the diatomaceous earth Crawling Insect Killer". www.saferbrand.com is a website that lists for more information. or a local retail source.
